Nolan Conway visited hundreds of the restaurants and finds them to be fertile ground for colorful portraits. Recently, the pictures were presented in the magazines New York Times and Wired.Conway first got the idea last December when he was using the internet in a McDonald’s in Nampa, Idaho while working on a different photo project. A man walked in with a gun strapped to his hip, which was a surprise for Conway, who lives in New York City. Next a small girl walked in wrapped in a blanket with no shoes. He thought both people stood out visually so he asked to take their picture.
